Δημήτριος (Μίμης) Κατσέτος

 

Demetrios Katsetos, MD, PhD,
Obstetrics & Gynecology (OBGYN) specialist.

He received his medical qualification [Ptychion Iatrikes/MD degree] in 1956 at the Faculty of Medicine, National and Capodistrian University of Athens . He pursued postgraduate specialty training in obstetrics and gynecology as a Senior House Officer at Elena Venizelos Maternity Hospital in Athens under the tutelage of Dr. Basil C. Coutifaris. He completed his doctorate (PhD) in History of Medicine , also at the University of Athens , in 1969 under the preceptorship of Dr. Georgios C. Pournaropoulos [Thesis title: "History of the Art of Obstetrics through the Centuries"]. In 1964 he founded "ELEFTHO", a private maternity clinic, which he directed with tireless dedication and boundless energy until his retirement in 2001 having delivered successfully thousands of babies. As an astute clinician, he mastered the art of obstetrics and infertility, ahead of his time, with remarkable operative skill and diagnostic acumen. As a well respected but humble and compassionate physician, he became the quintessential patient advocate, as attested by his robust and flourishing clinical practice spanning over four decades.
